There is a section in Falling Forward (Richard Rohr) devoted to Discharging Your Loyal Soldier.
Apparently Japan had an effective ritual that some communities employed to assist post war soldiers reenter a civil and humane society.
That many of us have this early in Life urge, it sure would be helpful to assist others release this urge and have the wherewithall to move on.
