As the attempt to form a Radical Discipleship group in Sarasota faltered, the major question for our family of three centered on what to do next. An opportunity came to us from a contact in Sarasota. A project was evolving with farmworkers in Immokalee, Florida in the heart of the Everglades. Edward R. Murrow’s 1960 documentary Harvest of Shame highlighted Immokalee. Murrow said, “They are the migrants, workers in the sweat shops of the soil - the harvest of shame.”
